Boysenberry Festival 2019

In April, Knott’s Berry Farm had their annual Boysenberry festival. I have the season pass for Knott’s and I love boysenberries, so of course I had to go. This was their 5th year and I have gone every year. Most years I only go once, but this year I decided to go twice. They had some new food items this year. Most of the food I tried was good. However, there were a couple disappointments.

Here is how I rate the food items at Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival

Boysenberry Icee Float A++

This is my favorite drink. It’s basically an boysenberry flavored icee inside of a boyseberry flavored soft serve, so good. I first tried it last year and couldn’t wait to get it this year. got it during both visits to the festival.

Boysemberry Cheesecake on a Stick B

Had this last year, it’s pretty good. Very sweet though.

IMG_20190401_113228_435.jpg

Boysenberry Waffles B-

This was good, but not something I would eat more than once

Boysenberry tortilla chips with boysenberry ice cream B

This was good, also very sweet

Boysenberry Grilled Cheese Sandwich B+

I love grilled cheese sandwiches and this one was really good!

IMG_20190401_114110_017.jpg
Boysenberry chicken wings A-

One of my favorites from the Boysenberry Festival

IMG_20190401_120056_697.jpg
Pot roast w mashed potatoes C+

The pot roast was really good!! However, I did not like the mashed potatoes at all!!! Which is what brought the grade down. I did not enjoy eating mashed potatoes with little boysenberries inside of it.

IMG_20190401_145309_852.jpg
Chicken Skewers A

This was for sure my favorite food to eat at the Boysenberry Festival! On my first visit I got this twice! They ran out when I was in line during my second visit.

(I forgot to get a picture of the hummus, oops!)

Boysenberry hummus B-

This was okay, nothing too special about it.

IMG_20190414_124830_270.jpg

Baked boysenberry mac and cheese A-

I did not expect to like it, but I really enjoyed this one. I loved the baked mac and cheese and the habanero sauce wasn’t too spicy.

20190401_135530.jpg

Boysenberry dole whip float B-

So disappointing. I wish that it had more ice cream than what it came with.

IMG_20190401_143156_868.jpg

Boysenberry steak w cream cheese topping A-

This was my second favorite food at the Boysenberry Festival. So good!

IMG_20190401_155349_669.jpg

Boysenberry pulled pork tostada C+

Not a big fan of pork, which is why this has a low grade, but it did taste good.

Boysenberry elote

I love eating elote and this was good. My sister enjoyed it so much that she got 3 of them!

Overall, I enjoyed the food and can’t wait for the Boyseberry Festival in 2020!

Christmas Season

It’s almost Christmas! I love this time of the year. Everything about Christmas season makes me happy. The music, the decorations, the movies, the food, I can go on and on. The only thing I can’t do this year is go ice skating because of the little one in my belly. Oh well, there’s always next year!

One of my favorite things to do is watch Christmas movies. Since I have so much free time, this year I decided to watch a few Christmas movies from Netflix. Here are my favorites. Most of them from 2017-2018, but I did add a few older movies.
1. The Holiday Calendar
2. Christmas Crush
3. A Christmas Prince
4. Christmas Inheritance
5. The Princess Switch
6. A Christmas Prince 2

Non Netflix Movies
1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
2. Santa Clause 1
3. Santa Clause 2
4. Santa Clause 3
5. It’s a Wonderful Life

Besides watching movies, I also like driving around the cities looking at all the decorations with my family. It’s fun to see how creative people get when it comes to decorating their houses. Some people really go all out. When I buy my own house, my house will definitely be decorated every Christmas season.

Another thing I love is Christmas music. In fact, this year I started listening to Christmas before Thanksgiving! That was only because there was a radio station that started playing music really early. I think they started playing music in the first week of November. Some people complain about the music being played too soon, but it’s very cheerful music and always lifts up my spirit when I hear that music being played. My favorite song is Let it Snow, but I also really like the song Little Drummer Boy.

One thing I really like to do is go to Knott’s Berry Farm. During this time, they call it Knott’s Merry Farm. I love how they decorate everything and all the Christmas themed desserts and food that they have. My family and I also enjoy watching the Christmas shows they have, especially Snoopy on Ice.

Boysenberry Festival 2018

I went to Knott’s Berry Farm with my sister for the Boysenberry Festival. We went after I got out of work. I knew it would be crowded, but wasn’t expecting it to be as bad as it was. It was spring break for many schools, which explains why the parking lot was almost completely full when we got there a little after 2pm. I’m sure the fact that Disneyland keeps raising their prices also led more people to go to Knott’s Berry Farm. I wasn’t too bothered though, since we only went to Knott’s to try out the food. We happened to go on Boysenberry Day, April 3, 2018. They were giving out buttons to everyone who went. This might have been another reason that Knott’s was so crowded.

This year was my fourth year going to the Boysenberry Festival at Knott’s Berry Farm. It is my favorite time of the year to go to Knott’s. I bought the tasting card again this year. The tasting card is $30 and it allows you to try a variety of things. It is definitely worth it to buy. You get to try things that you wouldn’t have otherwise bought. Here are the things I tried.

Boysenberry Boba- 6/10
I love drinking boba. This was a little bit disappointing for me. It wasn’t bad, but the boba balls at the bottom weren’t very soft. Also, the boysenberry taste was too subtle and it ended up tasting bland.

Boysenberry Chicken Wings- 10/10
The boysenberry chicken wings are the best. They use Boysenberry bbq sauce on the winga, but they aren’t too sweet . These are a family favorite.

Boysenberry Ribs- 8/10
The ribs were good. A bit greasy, but good. These were made with beef rather than pork. The rice mixed with the ribs were good , esp because the ribs were very tender.

Boysenberry Pierogis- 8/10
First time ever trying pierogis. I thought they were good. The pierogis had cheddar cheese inside and came with a side of grilled onions and smoked bacon. I especially loved the boysenberry sour cream. I would love if these were offered at Knott’s year round.

Boysenberry Elote- 9/10
I love eating elote aka corn on the cob so I was very excited to try this. It was really good. I liked the boysenberry butter and boysenberry mayo. My only complaint is that they put too much of the cheese, which im not a fan of.

Sausage on a Bun-5/10
Disappointed by this. The sausage itself was ok, but I didn’t like the fact that they only had relish and mustard as condiments. There was no ketchup or mayo.

Forgot to take a pic of this

Boysenberry Coconut Macaroon-9/10
I love coconut and boysenberry and I have a sweet tooth. This was one of my favorite treats.

Boysenberry Icee Float- 10/10
This was my favorite thing I tried. The icee float came with boysenberry icee and they put boysenberry ice cream on top of that! It took me a while to finish but it was so good!

Boysenberry Hummus with Pita Bread-7/10
I am such a big fan of hummus, but this was disappointing. I also didn’t like the fact that they grilled the pita bread.

Boysenberry Quesadilla-7/10
The quesadillas were good. I wish they would have given us boysenberry sour cream rather than just plain sour cream. The salsa was good, but too spicy for me. I like the fact that the quesadillas were purple. Didn’t like the cotija cheese that was used for the quesadillas.

Boysenberry Jelly Beans-10/10
Jelly beans are my favorites. These were really good. Perfect for anyone who has a sweet tooth like me.

Some other things I bought were boysenberry butter (which I haven’t tried yet), boysenberry lip balm (smells really good), and a boysenberry festival shirt that came with a collector’s pin (which is great because I collect pins). We didn’t go on any rides, but since we have the annual season pass, it wasn’t such a big deal. We really did only go for the food. Next year, I plan to go to Boysenberry Festival at least twice. It was fun for me to try new things and eat favorites.

Boysenberry Festival

One of my favorite things about going to Knott’s Berry Farm is their selection of boysenberry food. During the Boysenberry Festival, they have so many things that are not available year round. I went this year with my family, the third year in a row going there. We tried a lot of interesting new foods. My mom, sister, and I all bought the tasting cards. They are $25 each and with those cards you can get six different boysenberry items.

2017 Tasting Card Items (and grades)

1. Boysenberry BBQ Meatballs B-

2. Boysenberry Fry Bread B+

3. Boysenberry Buffalo Wings A-

4. Boysenberry Ravioli N/A (Didn’t try it

5. Boysenberry Panna Cotta B+

6. Boysenberry Pizza A++

This was by far my favorite thing on the tasting card. It had goat cheese, which sounded weird, but tasted so good. My mom even went back to buy another slice 🙂 Too bad they don’t offer this one year round.

Some other things I got that were not on the tasting card were the boysenberry milkshake, boysenberry pie, and chocolate covered boysenberry cheesecake. Lately I have become somewhat addicted to milkshakes. I knew that I would definitely have to give this one a try. I liked it a lot. It was sweet, but not over the top sweet. The boysenberry pie was good too. I liked the chocolate covered boysenberry pie, my only complaint was that they used dark chocolate. I think it could have been better with milk chocolate.

2015 in Review

2015 was a pretty good year for me. While I didn’t get to travel, I still got to enjoy the year with my family and my boyfriend.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary in 2015.

One of my favorite memories of 2015 was finally going to Disneyland with my boyfriend.

As a season ticket holder for Knott’s Berry Farm, I was able to go a few times in 2015. My favorite was going to the Boysenberry Festival with my family.

My youngest sister was baptised and I was one of her godmothers, along with my other sister Destiny.

I finally got my driver’s license! Had to take some driving classes, which was almost $300, but it was worth it.
