On to the Euro QFs

The QFs are set- Portugal v Czech Republic, Germany v Greece, Italy v England, and Spain v France. I didn’t correctly predict a single one. These are the QFs I was expecting- Russia v Netherlands, Germany v Czech Republic, Spain v England, and Italy v France.

Some players I will miss seeing are Arshavin, Zlatan, and Modric. I’m hoping Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Greece win, though I know it’s a long shot for Greece to beat Germany, you never know!

This was my first time watching Euro, and so far, I’m really liking it. In 2016, it will be in France. I would love to go, not only is it in a country that I’ve wanted to visit all my life, it looks really fun.

Manchester City v LA Galaxy- July 24th, 2011

Last summer, Manchester City came to LA to play against the home team, LA Galaxy. At first, I wasn’t all that excited about seeing them, after all, I didn’t know much about them. But as I started watching City play, I became impressed with the way they played. David Silva and Joe Hart, esp, were incredible. The game ended 1-1, so they went to penalty shootout. City ended up winning, thanks to their keeper, Hart, who scored the winning penalty. This was the day I became a City fan. Here are some pictures I took during that game. Enjoy!

Memories of his mother: Mari Carmen Fernández on Iker.

I had Iker when I was 22 years old.  In other words, I was just a child myself.  But I’ve always been very responsible.  I studied and I worked.  I liked to plan my life very well, but my planning failed when I got pregnant.

Football doesn’t interest me in the least.  Zero.  But it seems that my life was marked by those who were around me, and they did like football.  My boyfriend, who would later become my husband, loved football, as did one of my first bosses.  I was working then in media planning, and my boss, José María Martínez Rovira, was such a big fan of football that a few years back, he ran for the presidency of Barça, which was won by Laporta.  Meanwhile, José Luis was sent…
