A year ago, I didn’t really watch YouTube much. I really only used YouTube to watch music videos. Now I am subscribed to 35-40 accounts. I follow a variety of accounts, from soap making channels, eco friendly and zero waste channels, to anti mlm channels. Here are my favorite accounts.

Are You a Stacey or a Mary Anne?

If you know who I am talking about just from seeing their names, then you are also a big Baby-Sitters Club fan like I am! I grew up reading their books and even now at almost 30 years old, I still enjoy reading their books. I have a little over 150 of their books, though they have published about 230+.

Their series just came out on Netflix and I watched it in two days. They updated it a little to modern times, but kept the essential babysitter club stories. I think they did a great job and really hope they plan to make more seasons.

The babysitters in the series are Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey, Dawn, Jessi, and Mallory. Later on, they were joined by Abby and Shannon (though only as a part time sitter). All these girls have different personalities and hobbies but manage to be friends.

Growing up, I always wished that I was like Dawn. She was the carefree, health conscious, environmentally friendly, cool girl from California. We do have a few things in common, we are both from California and both try our best to be eco friendly. But she is way cooler than I am. The more I think about it, I am actually Mallory. She’s quiet, enjoys reading and writing, wants to be an author when she grows up, and is the oldest of a very big family. We have all those things in common, only I am the oldest of 6 not 8.

Have you watched the series yet? What did you think? Also, who do you identify with most?

July Goals

July has gone by so quickly that I didn’t realize I forgot to post this month’s goals. Oops! Here they are, nearly 3 weeks late.

  1. Read 5 books
  2.  Launch Athena Rose website
  3. Publish 5 posts on my blog
  4. Run 20 miles
  5. Bake at least 3 times

Keeping it simple this month. Maybe next month I will be more ambitious and not so lazy.

June Goals Recap

These were my goals from June. Sadly, I failed most of them.

-I came few two weeks, but the next two weeks I used my phone about 38-42 hours each week

No streaming services aka Netflix, Prime, or Hulu

-Watched Netflix one day and watched Hulu another day, only because I forgot to cancel my Hulu account before I was charged, oops!
Only shop on Amazon once

-I shopped there 9 times!
No Twitter, Facebook, or Snapchat

-Posted once or twice on Snapchat, once on Twitter, and posted once on Facebook, though I went on almost every single day
Run 20 miles

-This was one of the few goals I accomplished. I ran 21 miles in June, including a virtual OC Half Marathon
No shopping at Target

-Shopped at Target twice, which isn’t too bad
20 No spend days

-Not sure how many no spend days I had, but it wasn’t close to 20 days
Read 7 books

I did this goal too, Read about 10 books last month.

No Posts In June

I just realized that it’s July 6th and I didn’t post a single post last month in June. Fail! I had a few posts started, but June was such a crazy month, I didn’t finish any. To make up for that, I will try to post at least 7 times this month, including this one. Later this week, I will be posting my June recaps and July goals. Also later this week, my newly designed website for Athena Rose will be launching, so stay tuned for that. Thanks, see you next time!
