Monday Night Raw

Earlier this year, in April, I went to see Monday Night Raw at the Staples Center with just my boyfriend. Last month, I went to the Staples Center with my boyfriend and his friend to watch WWE Monday Night Raw. This time it was only half the roster there. I still had fun anyways because we had pretty good seats. We sat on the side where the wrestlers came out from. Some of my favorite people that I saw were Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, and the New Day. We also saw Charlotte, Enzo and Big Cass, Jericho, and Kevin Owens.

Can’t wait for December. They will be back. This time I will be going with my sister Angelina. I hope she enjoys it, it will be her first time seeing Monday Night Raw in person. We will definitely take a couple signs that day!

Mariachi 5K

My second 5k (October 15, 2016) took place in my own city and my whole family was able to go out there and cheer me on. It was nice having them there. They took pictures of me and just waited by the finish line for me. One of my coworkers also ran the 5k. For some reason though, it seemed a little bit tougher than my first 5k. It was much colder and had more hills than the first 5k. My time for this 5k was 29.11 minutes. I was kind of disappointed I didn’t do as well as I wanted. I have one more 5k coming up on Saturday (October 29). I hope to finish that 5k in at least 27 minutes or less.

Here are some pictures my mom and sister took during the Mariachi 5k.

My First 5K Part 2

For many years, I wanted to run but never felt motivated. A few months ago, I decided to sign up for the Alhambra Pumpkin Race 5k.

I started training in late July. But because of the hot weather and my laziness, I didn’t take my training seriously until late August, early September. Because I waited so long, I didn’t think I was ready for the race. I thought I would come in last place or take way too long to finish, like 45+ minutes.

When race day came, I was so nervous! My sister told me the day before that my family was going to see me. I was in shock! Couldn’t believe they would actually wake up early to support me and cheer me on. I thought they might change their minds because they love sleeping in. That day, they all woke up at 540 am just for me. It was a great feeling crossing the finishing line and seeing them there, cheering me on.

I ended up in 61st place, with a time of 27.17 minutes. My fastest 3 miles ever! There were 390 people in total, so by coming in 61st place, I was in the top 15%. Not bad for my first 5k race. I have another 5k race on Saturday October 15. This one is closer to my home so I can wake up later. I feel like I am more prepared and I am hoping to do a little better this time around. Maybe get 26 minutes.

Kellogg’s Gymnastics Tour

us-at-staples-center

I first started watching the Summer Olympics back in 2004, when it took place in Athens, Greece. One of the sports that caught my attention was gymnastics. Even though I can’t do gymnastics at all, I always enjoyed watching both the men and the women’s teams over the last 12 years or so. Some of my favorites from the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics were Paul and Morgan Hamm, Carly Patterson, Shawn Johnson, Nastia Likun, to name a few.

I finally got to watch gymnastics in person and it was awesome! I took three of my sisters, ages 7-17 and we all had fun. They added today’s music and some dance moves to their routines.

I think my highlight was getting an autograph from Shawn Johnson. Here’s a picture of that.

Once Upon a Time

A few weeks ago, on September 12, I decided to finally give Once Upon a Time a chance. I said I would watch one episode and if I didn’t like it, I’d stop watching it. At the time, the first five seasons were on Netflix. I got hooked after the first episode and ended up watching the entire 5 seasons (about 110 episodes or so) in 13 days! There was one day when I didn’t have work or school and I was able to watch 12 hours of it!

In fact, in less than a month, I became such a fan of Once upon a Time, that I have bought a few pop toys of characters from the show! I also bought a 2017 calendar and a poster with the characters of Once Upon a Time.

I usually don’t like newer shows, I’m a little bit picky. I didn’t expect to like this show at all, honestly. When I first heard about it, I figured it would be over the top or too childish. After all, it incorporates fairy tales into their storylines. But the writing and acting is so much better than I expected.

My favorite season so far has to be season four, which included a storyline with Anna and Elsa from Frozen, which is one of my all time favorite movies. My favorite characters are Belle, Emma Swan, Hook, and Regina. I think one of my least favorite character has to be Peter Pan.
