Meatless March 2020

Last year, I didn’t take part in Meatless March. I had a newborn baby and just needed to eat whatever I could to give myself energy. This year I decided to take part in Meatless March. The first week or so was definitely easy. I didn’t miss eating any meat or seafood. After the first week, I started to miss eating chicken. I lasted about 10/11 days when I decided to stop taking part in Meatless March. The reason I decided to do this is that because of all the craziness that’s going on in the world and all the supermarkets being out of stock with certain essentials, I can’t afford to be so picky with what I eat. Once this calms down, I will most likely stop eating red meat and seafood again.

No New Clothes 2020

Something that people might not know about me is that I have way too much clothes. It doesn’t help that I get way too attached to my clothes and keep everything, even if I don’t ever wear it again. Last year, I cut back massively on buying myself clothes. I ONLY bought what I absolutely needed. In 2019 this is what I bought- 1 bikini top ($16), 3 bras ($10/$12 each), a pair of black flats ($15), and a pair of black pants ($10). I spent less than $100 on clothes for myself last year. This year, I want to take it further and not buy myself any new clothes. I am still trying to cut back even more on clothes and minimize what I have. The only exception to this will be socks, underwear, and bras. The first month in and it has been a breeze so far. I don’t miss buying myself clothes at all. Let’s see how the next 11 months go.

LA Stair Climb

One event that I looked forward to all year was the LA Stair Climb that takes place every year in Downtown LA at the US Bank Tower. It’s the tallest building west of the Mississippi River and it’s 75 stories high.

I did this race last year at 5.5 months pregnant. I couldn’t push myself of course, so instead, I just walked the whole way up without stopping. My time last year was 24 minutes and 17 seconds.

I trained for it this year by using the stairmaster at my local gym. My main goal was to beat last year’s time. My other goal was to finish in under 20 minutes. I beat last year’s time by 3.5 minutes which is great! However, I barely missed finishing in under 20 minutes. My official time was 20 minutes and 34 seconds.
