LA Stair Climb

One event that I looked forward to all year was the LA Stair Climb that takes place every year in Downtown LA at the US Bank Tower. It’s the tallest building west of the Mississippi River and it’s 75 stories high.

I did this race last year at 5.5 months pregnant. I couldn’t push myself of course, so instead, I just walked the whole way up without stopping. My time last year was 24 minutes and 17 seconds.

I trained for it this year by using the stairmaster at my local gym. My main goal was to beat last year’s time. My other goal was to finish in under 20 minutes. I beat last year’s time by 3.5 minutes which is great! However, I barely missed finishing in under 20 minutes. My official time was 20 minutes and 34 seconds.

Hello 2019

Although 2018 was a good year for me, I am definitely looking forward to 2019. Of course the biggest things I am looking forward to is the birth of my baby girl. She will be here in less than 2 weeks! Still in shock that I am going to be someone’s mom. Never saw that coming. Some other things I am looking forward to is becoming a better and faster runner, finally starting my business, and paying off most, if not all of my credit cards this year. Every year I like to make a bucket list. This year is no different. Some things on my bucket list are small things like learn to make cheesecake from scratch, while others will take more time and dedication in completing them, like running a half marathon (13.1 miles) in under 2 hours. Here is my bucket list for 2019.

September 2017

A new month a new list of things to do this month! The biggest thing I’m doing this month is the 30 Day Vegan Challenge. I have given up meat and poultry for a month before, during Meatless March, but I’ve never given up dairy products or other animal products. This will be hard for me. Here’s a list of my goals and bucket list for this month!

1. Run 100 miles

I’m training for my first marathon next month so this is definitely possible. In August, I ran about 90 miles. This will be my last full month of training so I hope I can stick to the training plan as much as possible.

2. 30 Vegan Challenge

No meat, no poultry, no dairy products, no eggs, no seafood, etc. I’ve on!y been vegan for about four days and it’s been really hard for me. I’ve had headaches and have low energy. This is bad for me as a runner. I know I will need to improve the way I eat if I want to last the finish the 30 Day Vegan Challenge.

3. Continue learning German

I know some basic German, but I want to be able to read the German version of the Harry Potter books. One day I would love to visit Germany, it’s one of the top countries on my travel bucket list.

4. Learn to play guitar

My boyfriend said he will teach me to play guitar. I would love to be able to write some songs for him to sing while I accompany him on guitar.

5. Go on a spending fast

Anyone who knows me knows I have the bad habit of buying things I don’t need. This month I want to stop that. My plan is to not buy anything like books, running shoes, makeup, non essential things.
