April 2022 Goals

I liked the goals I set for myself last month, so I will set them again for this month! Maybe I will do better this time around.

  1. Read 5 books
  2. Run 30 miles
  3. Spend less than $50 on fast food or take out (theme parks are the exception)
  4. Spend less than $50 on Amazon
  5. Spend less than $100 at Target
  6. Make $300 with my business
  7. Write 5 posts on my blog
  8. 20 days of using phone 7 hours or less
  9. Go to the gym 2 times a week
  10. Post 3 videos on YouTube
  11. Post 5 videos on TikTok
  12. Post 5 videos on Instagram
  13. Take my daughter out 2 days a week (theme park, park, nature activities etc)
  14. Have 100 followers on TikTok

March 2022 Goals recap

I set a lot of goals for this month. I started off very motivated, but as usual, this eventually wore off. Here’s how I did this month.

  1. Read 5 books * yes I did this!
  2. Run 30 miles * I ran 36 miles. The most so far this year
  3. Spend less than $30 on fast food or take out (theme parks are the exception) × lol nope, I spent $200 😭
  4. No Amazon × I failed but I spent less than $75
  5. No Target × I also failed here but spent less than $80
  6. Make $300 with my business ×major fail I made less than $100 🙃
  7. Write 5 posts on my blog × I failed. Had so many in my drafts and forgot to write and post them
  8. 20 days of using phone 6 hours or less × phone and screen time has been such a struggle for me this year
  9. Meatless Mondays ×I forgot about this honestly.
  10. Go to the gym 2 times a week × didn’t go to the gym because I didn’t want to get hurt before my marathon
  11. Post 3 videos on YouTube ×only posted 1 video
  12. Post 5 videos on TikTok *I ended up posting 6 videos!
  13. Post 5 videos on Instagram ×I only posted 1 video
  14. Take my daughter out 2 days a week (theme park, park, nature activities etc) *I did this most weeks, so much fun
  15. Have 100 followers on TikTok × no , but I went from 30 to 60 followers

Update on My Low Spend Year

I am 2 months in to my low buy year and I am doing just okay. I am not doing as awful as previous years, but I am still buying unnecessary things unfortunately. I would give myself a C for now.

One good thing though is that I have cut back on buying things for my business. Last year I spent close to $4,000 on supplies like fragrance oils, mica, clays etc. A lot of it wasn’t even necessary. I bought so many ingredients that I can’t even remember what they were for and they have just been on my shelf all this time.

I have only bought myself one clothing item and it was a tshirt that I bought for the Knott’s Berry Farm Peanuts Celebration. I have bought my daughter 3 shirts, which isn’t too bad. I think I should definitely be able to get through March without buying her anymore clothes or myself. Though I might us shirts for Knott’s Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival, if they are cute.

I have done a good job of not buying soap or whipped soap. Last year I bought way too much and ended up giving away so much of it to my local Buy Nothing group.

I have also bought some books from the library. I think I have spent about $20 total, which isn’t much, but each book was 25 to 50 cents, so I ended up buying a lot of books. To be honest, i don’t have much space for them, but I couldn’t pass up the good deals and had to add them to my collection of books. I think I have somewhere between 600-800 books from my childhood collection.

Next month I will try to be more intentional with my purchases. Target and Amazon are two places where I have spent too much money, so my goal is to cut back on shopping there.

March Goals

Here are my goals for March. For the most part, many goals will be the same, but i will be adding a few more.

February 2022 Goals Recap

I know we have a few more days left in February, but I don’t think I will accomplish these goals. I ended up accomplishing 4 out of the 10 goals. Happy for the goals I accomplished, but wanted to do better. Will keep most of the same goals for March, might add a few more.

  1. Read 5 books * This one was easy for me, I usually read 2 books a week
  2. Run 25 miles x I have a hard time running when it’s so cold, only ran once
  3. No fast food or take out (theme parks are the exception) x failed, but i did cut back compared to last month
  4. No Amazon x also failed, most things I bought were for my daughter or my business
  5. No Target x Came here a few times, including when I got some Easter things for my daughter
  6. Make $300 with my business x only made $90 this month
  7. Save $500 *I was able to save more than this
  8. Declutter 300 items * I think I decluttered close to 600 things! I still have a lot more to go
  9. Write 5 posts on my blog * This one was also easy
  10. 20 days of using phone 6 hours or less x This one is so hard! But the last week, I have been able to cut back on my phone usage. Maybe I can accomplish this in March.
