My Favorite Books of 2022

I was unemployed in 2022 for about 8 or 9 months so I had plenty of time to read. I read a little over 200 books last year, so picking my favorites was really difficult. I read a variety of books from YA books to mystery to crime to thrillers and everything in between.

Here are some of my favorite books I read last year, in no specific order. Picking my favorite books was hard enough, it would’ve been too much for me to rank them in order.

  1. Project 333 by Courtney Carver
  2. Clutterfree with Kids by Joshua Becker
  3. A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole
  4. Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover
  5. The Year of Less by Cait Flanders
  6. It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
  7. Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
  8. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
  9. The Paid Bridesmaid by Saraih Wilson
  10. The Secrets of Us by Lucinda Berry
  11. The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry
  12. I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sanchez
  13. When She Returned by Lucinda Berry
  14. The Hive by Gregg Olsen
  15. A Shot at Normal by Marisa Reichardt

I also wanted to include some of my favorite authors from last year as well.

  1. Melinda Leigh
  2. Kendra Eliot
  3. Lucinda Berry
  4. Gregg Olsen

Are You a Stacey or a Mary Anne?

If you know who I am talking about just from seeing their names, then you are also a big Baby-Sitters Club fan like I am! I grew up reading their books and even now at almost 30 years old, I still enjoy reading their books. I have a little over 150 of their books, though they have published about 230+.

Their series just came out on Netflix and I watched it in two days. They updated it a little to modern times, but kept the essential babysitter club stories. I think they did a great job and really hope they plan to make more seasons.

The babysitters in the series are Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey, Dawn, Jessi, and Mallory. Later on, they were joined by Abby and Shannon (though only as a part time sitter). All these girls have different personalities and hobbies but manage to be friends.

Growing up, I always wished that I was like Dawn. She was the carefree, health conscious, environmentally friendly, cool girl from California. We do have a few things in common, we are both from California and both try our best to be eco friendly. But she is way cooler than I am. The more I think about it, I am actually Mallory. She’s quiet, enjoys reading and writing, wants to be an author when she grows up, and is the oldest of a very big family. We have all those things in common, only I am the oldest of 6 not 8.

Have you watched the series yet? What did you think? Also, who do you identify with most?
